Highlight – Founder of Ignite Conversions, LLC and the StoryCircuit™ methodology for getting the most clicks on

websites using a combination of persuasive copywriting, search engine optimization (SEO), conversion rate optimization (CRO and business strategy.  He carries numerous certifications in copywriting, Google applications, and SEO/CRO tools and methods.

Jeff started his career as an electrical engineer designing radio receivers for cellular telephones, but he quickly discovered that his real passion was in building successful technology businesses.  This passion led him into consulting, where he joined consulting giant Booz Allen and built his own practice and team of technologists.  His vision led to his role as Vice President/Partner for Digital Transformation, where he helped enterprise clients leverage emerging internet technologies.  

However, his true calling was a passion for independent small businesses, so he combined this with another passion, music, and founded a new brand, GigTuff cables for musicians, as well as an online store, Metro DC Music, which delivered cables, parts, and accessories for musicians worldwide. He created a fulfillment operation in a private warehouse in Northern Virginia.  He also opened three School of Rock locations in the Washington, DC, region, where, over 17 years,  he helped thousands of young students achieve their dream of playing music live on stage in the thousands of shows that Jeff managed and presented.

It was these businesses that led to his expertise with website design, SEO, and conversion optimization using Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Magento, custom PHP, and other platforms.  He also developed his copywriting skills to create successful, high-converting ecommerce stores.  Jeff combined these practices into an approach to website conversion called the StoryCircuit™, which integrates business strategy, copywriting, and technology optimization to deliver a complete solution that turns websites into what Jeff calls “lead takers and money makers.”  

A desire to travel led him to sell these businesses but to continue his StoryCircuit™ practice as Managing Director for Ignite Conversions (www.igniteconversions.com), helping small and medium business owners dramatically improve the results of their web presence.  

Today, he is a guide for clients seeking the web results they’ve always desired but haven’t achieved.  Depending on the project, he combines copywriting, SEO, CRO, and business strategy for a cohesive offering that generates clicks.    

Outside his work life, Jeff remains very active in the community service and music scenes.  He was a founding member and former President of the Vienna Business Association (viennabusiness.org), and today continues to manage the entertainment of their annual Vienna Oktoberfest (www.viennaoktoberfest.org), the largest fall festival in Northern Virginia.  He is also an active member of Rotary and serves the Rotary Club of Vienna as the entertainment chairman for its annual Viva Vienna Memorial Day weekend festival  (www.vivavienna.org).

Behind the Screen: Technical Experience & Systems Expertise

I’m an old-school tech geek who likes to get under the hood of whatever I’m working on. In junior high, it was amateur radio, vacuum tubes, and electronics. In high school, it was the new microcomputers, like the Altair 8800, and getting my FCC First Class Radiotelephone license. From my days troubleshooting dense computer circuit-boards to restoring high-voltage radio transmitters, I apply the same logic and rigor to fixing the digital protocols of modern web checkouts today.
